MSS Hosts High-Impact Bariatric & Hernia Workshop in Dubai, Advancing Surgical Excellence Across the Region

Dubai, UAE – April 2025 — In a decisive step toward regional surgical advancement, Med Surg Solutions (MSS) hosted its flagship Bariatric & Hernia Workshop on April 18–19 at Al Bandar Rotana, Dubai. The two-day workshop brought together a distinguished panel of international and regional experts in minimally invasive, bariatric, and hernia surgery, setting a new benchmark for surgical education and innovation in the GCC and MENA regions.

The event drew a diverse audience of practicing surgeons, clinical professionals, and healthcare leaders, all convened around a common goal: to elevate standards of care through collaboration, insight-sharing, and real-world experience.

Renowned faculty included Dr. Daniel Guerron of Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Prof. Elie Chouillard from the American Hospital of Paris, Dr. Sonja Chiappetta from Italy’s Ospedale Evangelico Betania, Dr. Juan Bellido of the University of Seville, and senior surgeons from major institutions in Saudi Arabia including King Fahad Hospital, NGHA Riyadh, and King Salman Military Hospital Tabuk.

The workshop covered a comprehensive and clinically relevant agenda, with in-depth sessions on advanced stapling technologies, biologic materials in abdominal wall reconstruction, the Madrid Approach, and practical techniques for ventral and hiatal hernia repair.

“This wasn’t just another surgical course—it was a collaborative platform for shaping tomorrow’s OR,” said Hind Kattar, Group Marketing Manager at MSS. “The dialogue, engagement, and technical exchange reinforced our mission to bring global surgical innovation into practical, local impact.”

With speakers representing world-class institutions across Europe and the Middle East, the workshop blended global expertise with regional relevance. Live case reviews, treatment algorithm breakdowns, and technology showcases provided attending clinicians with tools they can immediately apply in their practice.

A standout session featured an introduction to Honeywell’s technology solutions aimed at enhancing bariatric surgery workflows, adding an additional layer of innovation to the event.

The success of the Bariatric & Hernia Workshop underscores MSS’s role as a regional catalyst for clinical excellence, bridging the gap between medical technology manufacturers, surgeons, and hospital systems. More than a distributor, MSS continues to act as an educational partner and strategic enabler in healthcare transformation.

“This is how we create long-term value,” noted Mr. Nazih Mahmoud, Marketing and Product Management Director at MSS. “By investing in knowledge exchange, connecting global and local expertise, and supporting surgeons in delivering better outcomes—every day, across the region.”

As MSS expands its footprint across the Gulf and MENA regions, events like these reflect its growing influence, not only in supplying solutions, but in shaping the surgical ecosystem that will define the future of healthcare.
