Med Surg Solutions (MSS), in strategic collaboration with the Barouk - Freidis Municipality and with the implementation of the Food Heritage Foundation (a prominent Lebanese local NGO), organized an intensive workshop titled `Introduction to Dairy Production.` Held at the municipal palace in Barouk, this community-driven initiative successfully brought together more than 15 local women for a transformative, hands-on learning experience.
Spanning a full intensive day, the comprehensive session was led by expert trainer Youmna Eskandarni. The curriculum offered a deep dive into the core essentials of the dairy industry, deliberately bridging the gap between traditional agricultural practices and modern food safety standards. Participants were first introduced to the critical science of milk pasteurization, ensuring that all dairy items meet rigorous health guidelines. Beyond foundational theoretical knowledge, the workshop placed a heavy emphasis on practical application. The women actively engaged in the step-by-step processes of transforming raw, pasteurized milk into high-quality, market-ready cheese and dairy products under expert guidance.
This empowering initiative is a proud component of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for 2026 at Med Surg Solutions, reflecting the company's dedication to sustainable community development and grassroots capacity building.
Mrs. Lara Maroun Keyrouz, CEO Office Manager and CSR Lead at MSS, emphasized the broader impact of the event: `At MSS, we believe that true corporate responsibility means actively investing in the communities where we operate. By equipping these women with valuable, hands-on production skills, we are not just preserving Lebanon's rich culinary heritage; we are fostering sustainable economic independence and opening new doors for sustainable income generation right here in Barouk.`
By applying their newly acquired expertise, these women are taking significant steps toward local economic empowerment and self-reliance.
