Did You Know? Up to 70% of healthcare-associated infections are preventable through effective infection prevention and control measures.
To turn these statistics into actionable success, MSS brought together healthcare professionals from across the Kingdom for an immersive educational experience. Through hands-on sessions, interactive Q&As, and vital knowledge sharing, attendees explored the latest advances in environmental hygiene, aerosol systems, and infection prevention.
Day 1: Uncovering Hidden Threats and Advancing Disinfection
The two-day event commenced with opening remarks from Ms. Tia Almachtoub, Product Manager at MSS. Setting the stage for a focused exploration of advanced disinfection protocols, she highlighted the broader vision of the event: “The goal is to establish a globally consistent EN and EPA framework for the disinfectant”.
Understanding EN & EPA Standards
To fully grasp the importance of this framework in evaluating disinfectants like TECcare R-FOAM, it is essential to understand the global standards they are measured against:
- EN (European Norm): European performance standards that validate disinfectant efficacy through standardized testing.
- EPA (Environmental Protection Agency): U.S. regulatory authority that approves hospital disinfectants proven to be safe and effective.
Discussions throughout the first day highlighted the growing role of managing complex environmental hygiene, particularly in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and drains.
Day 2: Global Standards, Sustainability, and Aerosol Innovations
Saturday’s agenda shifted focus toward evaluating global standards, disinfectant compliance, and aerosol solutions. The sessions explored essential strategies for transitioning TECcare Aerosol Systems from laboratory validation directly into active clinical action.
Alignment with Global Sustainability
Crucially, the solutions and protocols discussed over the two days look beyond immediate hospital and OR walls. Aligned with UN SDG 6, this MSS Hygiene Heroes Expert Meeting reinforces sanitation, and infection prevention in healthcare.
A Step Forward for Regional Healthcare
This Expert Meeting did more than just present new data; it served as a powerful beacon of MSS's dedication to ensuring safer, less infected operating rooms and healthcare facilities.
By bringing together a global set of experts from Finland to the UK, and across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, MSS fostered a space for meaningful collaboration. Through its growing portfolio of educational initiatives, MSS continues to strengthen its role as a regional healthcare partner, connecting international innovations, emerging technologies, and clinical practice across the GCC and the Middle East.
Because not all heroes wear capes, some prevent infections before they happen.
